This 2-hour entrelac-made-easy workshop is targeted for knitters who are looking to take it up a notch.  Entrelac is a fun and fascinating knitting technique. In this workshop you’ll learn how to decipher the pattern, cast on and start a scarf.  There’s plenty of time to practice and cement the skill so you can continue at home.  Eventually you can make entrelac afghans or sweaters – the sky’s the limit.

Entrelac knitting consists of rows of triangles and squares that are worked in short rows. Short rows are rows that are worked over a portion of the stitches in a row, leaving the remaining stitches unworked.

Prerequisite – Know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Materials: – 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in different colours, or 1 skein variegated (take some leftovers from your stash to practice on, if you like, or bring in the yarn that you want to use for your scarf and go for it!)

5 or 5.5 mm needles
